Default 2001 1500 4x4 trans issue

i have a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 with the 360 magnum. i am having trouble with my transmission. ok here is the deal. when i start my truck up and its not warmed up it doesn't shift out of first. but if it does it'll slip into neutral. it also does it after shut off and turn back on to drive within an hour. when it is warmed up it shifts but shifts only at certain speeds. 12, 28, 42, and finally 50. when it shifts it shifts kinda hard. can someone please help me with some input. thanks

Probably wouldn't hurt to check the trans fluid level first. Check with truck at normal operating temperature and the transmission in N.

Was there any debris in the fluid or on the magnet? Some greyish looking crap on the magnet is normal, large chunks of metal aren't.

If a CEL is lit, there is a code. Check with another scanner.

Have to read stored codes, not just active codes. Don't know how many drive cycles a Ram takes to clear memory, but it is possibly quite a few.

While you were in the pan, did you have a look at the governor pressure sensor/solenoid?
