Cool. As long as there is no inspections I guess your good. Here in NC they do a visual only on cars made before 1996. If it came with emissions devices from the factory, they check it. They don't necessarily have to work but they do have to be there. What i've see guys do around here is gut the cat and have a piece of straight pipe welded inside it so it will pass inspection.

Probably not.

Well..... maybe. Depends on your driving style. It's gonna be louder, and that may tempt you to step harder on the gas, as it sounds kinda cool...... so, gas mileage may go down. Aside from that, if the cat is getting clogged, might even pick up a bit.

Ok. I am going to replace the o2 sensor too while i am at it. I am pretty tempermental with my foot so that should not be that big of an issue. Do you recommend the Bosch sensors? Also, i am having a hard time finding the exact part number i need. Any advice?

ok. So I had the exhaust done. Cat removed and he put a VX muffler on there. I have no idea what that kind is. He routed the exhaust higher along the side and told me that was to keep it out of the way in case I 4x4. Replaced O2 and now my gas has gone down some. I think I may have lost some low end power too.

Ideas?

Reset the PCM, drive if for a few days. Let it re-learn the new conditions. See what happens.

uh...... long tubes are SUPER easy to install! i did it by my self in 10 minutes, without any help, and holding the gaskets in place too. it was a fun, and kinda odd ordeal, but easy as hell!
