So I had my brother order the timing set, he gets a discount I told him a double roller but that's not what I got, it's a cloyes 3072 is the model. The chain is designed like a high energy not a double roller. Should I go through the trouble of returning it and getting a DR or will this one be sufficient performance?

The double rollers they have in town are all cast sprockets unless I want the $185 set... I was told to avoid the cast sets, that accurate?

Everywhere I have checked has to back order that part about 5-6 days so irritating. I mean 318 isn't exactly a scarce motor..

Even the comp cams guys have cast iron cam gears, and steel crank gears...... I don't think its all that unusual. I got the SA Gear (I think that's right) from advance. Nice set. works great. Been in there for over a year now.....

Alright I will return it today and get the autozone kit. Two of the waterpump bolts were rusted pretty bad and I noticed the water passages in the timing cover look like they are cracked. Is this common? Found local used ones available for $32. All the block threads are good, I was sweating bullets at first lol

Some surface "cracking" isn't all that unusual. If you don't trust it though, replace it.
