Default help

I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 I am having trouble with my Trans. When I start it when cold I don't have reverse in less I get it a bunch if gas and then it will go and then when I get to a stop sign it will kick in to nuterel and then again I have to give it gas to kick in and then once u get on the high way it takes for ever to shift out of first and second. If it is warm out it works fine or onces the truck gets warm it works fine. Can someone give me any ideas or help or do I need to look for a new Trans. Thank u

I can think of a number of things, but check the things mentioned already as they are basic things that must be right before going any further.
