Dodge experts please
Oiled up #8 plug is a symptom of blown plenum gasket. Verify by pulling the throttle body and looking for pooled oil in intake (given that you have PCV valve from the dealer). Jet chip and tbs give no benefit to performance or mpg, an SCT from hemifevertuning or superchips 3815 is better alternative. There's also no benefit to running octane booster or premium gas, given that your truck is running correctly.
When i run regular 87 it misfires and runs poor and i get about 9-10 mpg
When i run 89 it doesnt run as bad and i get close to 11mpg
When i run premium the truck idles smooth and perfect and i get 12 mpg
With my truck i notice a huge difference in octane...
also the superchip 3815 say that the year starts at 1998...and mines a 1997 would it still work? although i really want a sct tuner from hemifever im just confused on what to get
Thanks!

Figure out why its not running right and you won't have to use premium gas.
Like I said, if your truck is running correctly anything over 87 octane won't do anything for you. Dodge engineered your truck to run at peak performance on 87 octane, if they wanted you to use 93 they would tell you that.

do i need to put any additional info like what mods i have done to my truck at the checkout?
and with this tuner what kind of mpg difference could i expect?
Ur mod list and the pcm p/n at checkout.
The pcm p/n is 8 #'s and 2 letters. It may start off P5602 or P5604. Some stickers will have 5 #'s and then 3 more #'s and 2 letters in big black bold lettering.
he emails back wicked fast... sometimes in as little as 20 minutes... other times in as long as 24 hours.
my sct tuner will be here tomorrow!

Awesome!i just sent him a email right before you posted that!
Can anyone tell me how much of a Mpg increase they had with their tuner?
Cool thanks Merc!
I just read the end all plenum thread and it sounds like thats what it is but i dont think mine is that severe cause i have plenty of power and there is no carbon on my cylinder 8 sparkplug just a little bit of oil but not much and my truck really doesnt go through any oil it stays at the same level for like 4 or 5 months with minimal movement on the dipstick...i checked down the intake with a flash light and there is a little but hardly any oil in it and my dodge mechanic said that a little oil in there was normal (I guess cause all the 2nd gen rams go through their plenums haha)
