Usng silicone is not the problem for the install. It's the wrong silicone on the freshly drilled holes that is the problem. Acidic silicone will promote rust.

I have had my lights on for awhile with out any leaks. I wouldn't worry about leaks you can use a small bead of rtv if you want but then there harder to take off if you ever have to replace a bulb. The gaskets work good. When you install the lights don't over tighten the bolts. I have seen people over tighten them and wreak the gasket or worse put a small crack in the lens causing leaks. I don't know why everyone want to tighten stuff as tight as they can get it.

I just added a set of clearance lights to my truck last week! I bought factory replacement ones and drilled away. One of the hardest things I had to do to my truck haha.

I also hand made my deer killer. Only cost me around $50 and doesn't look too bad to me haha. The whole thing weighs in around 250lbs so it might be a little overkill for some people.

I cannot find this online anywhere and the Dodge dealership wanted to charge $30 a piece for the lights without the harness'.
