Default 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 pcm help

hey whats up? new to the forum and ive gotten some good info so hear i am trying to see if anyone could help me out. i have 1998 dodge ram 2500 v10 gas truck and i am having problems with the pcm regulating power but i dont think its the pcm because all my gauges work and my truck starts right up and drives fine other than its in limp mode. the problem started when i was changing the alternater and i hit the two leads in the back with a soket...figures i can hit that but not the lottery but anyway i seen a spark so i know i shorted out something. i checked all fuses in the truck and under the hood and thats as far as i can go so if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it...thanks!

You could try dis-connecting the batt neg side this will reset the pcm. Other than that a new pcm is in order as it controls the voltage.

Sorry no I don't. Not sure if it will help you as your year truck is not listed but the FSM's the 97 and 2001 can be Dl from here.

Not a problem hope it helped somewhat. Using a DVM what's showing at the batt (volts) with the truck running?

No it's a complete replacement pcm made by Mopar, I found them for a 94-95 V10 truck and a newer srt10 truck but not for your year truck.

Have a look about 3/4 of the way down the page. http://www.mopartsracing.com/parts/ram.html
