My 96 had the port for EGR but was blocked off from the factory.

I tryed plugging it and starting it and it made no difference. i am skeptical that it does anything. i am really worried about that distributor at least the cap because we took someones advice and put zip ties on. but the cap still feels loose and the pick up coil is not held down underneath it because when we were drilling out the broken screws the holes to hold it down were broke on it. so maybe its the hole but in all reality i feel it has something to do with the distributor. maybe i wont pull the distributor but i would like to puill the cap and pick up coil and try and put a new one in and see if that works.
I have two manifolds, and have looked at them extensively. One of them is on a shelf in the garage. No holes in either of them. Don't know what the hoe in yours is all about or what may go there.

OK, so the disty has zip ties holding it on? It has to be tight as well as cam sensor. THis coule be part of the problem.

alright cap came off, rotor off, put in a new rotor and pick up coil. Put everything back together and truck did the same thing, now with the P1391 loss of camshaft crank code. Very confused idk where to go from here.

Read up online and found that the crank sensor may be causing my problems. I will test it tomorrow

is the hole on the back of the manifold threaded? Is it clean (as if something has been plugged into it before?) I have a fully dressed engine in my basement on an engine stand that I can look at, but I have house guests staying down there from last night. I'll have to wait until they wake up before I go down and have a look.

Kind of a sucking/screeching noise? Sounds like the IAC is opening. PCM is opening it all the way in a attempt to keep the engine running.

So im still at school but i did alot of research and it seems that the iac is the culprit. also i got some gunk on my throttle body so it could have clogged the iac.
