Default 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Fog lights

I want to put fog lights on truck. I replace the headlight switch added the relay. I'm getting the fog light indicator to light and turn on and off with the brights. The connector under the radiator has a light blue and red wire. The red one is always hot and the light blue is hot when the fog light switch is off and 0 when the fog light switch is on. My schematic shows the blue wire to the fog lamps but no red one. Confused.

Red wire with orange trace is hot at all times. Gets power from Fuse G in the power distribution center. (under the hood)

Light blue wire runs to the fog lamp relay. Also gets a power feed from the fog lamp switch. (for the FL indicator.) Even when fogs are off, you will still get power there via the lamp circuit.

Both circuits are controlled thru the fog lamp relay, and then off to the fog lamp switch. (headlight switch.) Relay is actually controlled by the dimmer switch. With low beams on, relay is closed. Headlight switch provides final ground path.

It sounds like the circuits are working correctly. Are you fogs just not coming on?

Default fog lights

Just found a schematic on automotix.net. It shows the system and the correct color of wires. The one in my manual is completely wrong. I have not put the fog lamps in yet. The switch is below the blue wire and it goes to ground. That is why I get 12 volts when the switch is in the off position. In this system you do not hook to chassis ground you hook the lights to the blue and red wires. When you see the schematic it is simple.
