Default Engine trouble

My 96 died while I was driving the other day, it tries to start and when it finally does it sounds angry and then it shuts off. Just changed the oil and put in new spark plugs and wires about a week ago. Can't figure out why it is doing this.

make sure your new plug wires and coil wire didn't short out on the exhaust manifold....

The wires are performance and loomed away from the manifold and the fuel pump is brand new as of January. I'm gonna check the timing belt though, just realized that might be the problem.

Timing belt? There isn't one......

There's something wrong in the ignition system. Concentrate on what work you performed rather than suspecting other causes.

Nope. We know what you stated, and we know what is in the engine.

But the timing set is not likely to be the problem. Really have to do something radical to chunk that. I would start by going back over what you had just done and anything in that proximity that could have been knocked loose.
