How well do those seal? Could they be used in place of the internal seals that are a right bitch to replace?

I'm betting they will quickly destruct if the ujoint or hub assembly goes bad before you realize it. Which is why the seals are farther in the tube. But they sure do look nice and keep alot of crap out of the tubes.

Superior site says; Note these will not work with the passenger side vacuum disconnect two piece axle shaft, so that takes all the second gen trucks out of that one. You have pix of them installed on a 2nd gen Dodge Ram not a Jeep?

Reason the dont like the CAD axle is because its much larger and will not fit thru the hole. I thought some Ram front axles did not have the cad system? If so then swap axles out and you can use them.

But to answer other question about using them to keep oil IN, NO, it will not do that well.
If you have a bad seal and it leaks a little, then they will be fine to use. But not full on oil seal.

i emailed Alloy about those tube seals awhile back. they answered that the outer tube seals are for Jeep only, and not will not fit on a Dodge dana 44.

as compared to this.

great info , im for sure going to get me a set. my truck hardly ever goes in mud but always on dirt roads so i think its best if i protect inside the houseing.

by the way i went to the local dodge dealer here and they dont even list the factory cover, but shows it on a brand spanking 300 buck axle.

thanks
