I am currently rebuilding my 96 ram dashboard. Does anyone know if I can put a cabled speedometer in it or not. Now it has all electric gauges but I want to put "old school" gauges in it. I can't find anything saying that I can, but I did find a cable kit for my year truck. Don't want to buy it if I can't actually do it.

 

If you can find the appropriate cable driven speedometer...... On the 96, VSS is driven by gears in any event, probably be a simple matter to install a cable drive.
