Just found out today that my third brake lights no longer work. I removed the radio and cut the wiring harness. I found out that the third brake lights are wired together. My question is do I need the radio plugged back in or just the harness?
I suggest you get a Haynes manual since you have a 95. The schematics for tracing wires are rather good for your year. And why would you just cut the wires anyway?

Have you checked your fuses? If you just *****-nilly cut the wires you probably shorted something out and blew a fuse.
i have the haynes manual and am trying to trace the wires. Fuses look fine. I cut the harness because i was supposed to install an aftermarket radio but didn't.
changed the I.O.D. fuse. now the third brake light works only when i press the brake pedal, but not when my low beams or headlights are on. Maybe that's the way it is.

Third BRAKE light only works when you are pressing the brake. It's not a running light that comes on with your headlights.
Snd for future reference, about $10 buys an adapter for most vehicles that adapt factory wiring connector to after market radio units. Eliminates cutting up wiring (and creating future problems).
