Default Help please

I have a 96 dodge ram 4x4 and I had a bad coolant leak I changed the w/p and t stat and head gaskets my upper radiator house spouted a leak any suggestions on what happened?

Was it a brand new hose? Where did it spring a leak....end....middle....under clamp???

How old was the hose? Maybe you didnt get the clamp tight after reassembly. Maybe you need a new hose. Maybe you cut it and put a hole in it. Hoses leak for many reasons. Kinda hard to tell without a picture.

I would just throw a new hose on it and call it a day. Its not an expensive or difficult piece to replace and they generally last for a long time, so I would not be too worried about why it failed. Its not likely to happen again anytime soon.

Why would you change head gaskets for a coolant leak? Did you have a prior problem sucha as severe overheating that caused the head gaskets to blow?
