Default 94 ram 1500 not shifting into overdrive or t/c lock up

Lets get started i have a 94 ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9 and a 46rh. I've had the truck for 2 weeks now and its not shifting into overdrive or the t/c isn't locking like it should and i had a transmission shop look at it today and he said that its not going into overdrive but the t/c is working fine and i will have to have the trans rebuilt but he seemed shady and he told me i have problems with first gear and it didnt have any problems when shifting from park to first but now it bumps/jerks twice when i put it in drive is there something he could have done to make it do that when he had the pan and valve body out checking the solenoids and temp sensor....and is it possible for the converter to lock with it not in overdrive?

Try checking for codes for S&G's. http://dodgeram.info/Engine-Gas/OBDI/pcm_fault_code.htm

Have to figue out waht generation your Ram is. Determined by year. Then if it is general disscussion, it goes in GD section. Technical (such ad problems you are having) go in this section!

Don't know where you posted this, but a mod happears to have moved it.

Well i took it to the 2nd trany guy and he said its pulling a trans temp sensor code and then he cleared the codes and started the truck and it came back as soon as he started the truck back up so im gonna put a trans temp and solenoid in it and see if that fixes it...... but the first trany guy said he checked it and it was good but if it was why would it still be throwing the code for it?

Short in the wiring, or, failing PCM.
