Leveling the Rear ?
99 1500 4X4, gasser
I raised my front 1.75" awhile back, but now my Rear is setting to low, About 1.5"
I want to raise it level or just a tad higher in the rear.
Was prefering an AAL but want a long leaf not the short ones, who makes them.
Seems most just offer the short leaf.
What about using an extra factory leaf from the junk yard, say the top or second leaf ?
Also will I have to get new U-bolts or canI use the ones I have ?

Add a leafs is probably your best bet. Not sure if you can take a leaf from one pack and add it to your leaf pack but maybe someone else will chime in on that. There's also the route of getting a bigger block under your leafs. You'll likely need new u bolts, depending how much thread you have left on your existing ones. Or, I also have a set of heavy duty aftermarket leaf springs that I pulled out of my truck and replaced with stock leafs that I could sell you. They added about 2 inches of lift in the rear

2500 is 3 inches wide. 1500 is 2.5 inches wide.
on my old chevy a long time ago, i got a set of springs from the junk yard along with longer u-bolts off some other vehicle. i took mine off and took the packs apart and added the 2 longest ones from the junkyard pack. i used a longer 5/16 bolt for the center pin, and cobbled up some kind of retainer.
it worked well, adding lift and a lot of stiffness.

The 4X4 leaf packs are listed at 4/1 and 5/1
My leafs are 3/1 which are listed for 4x2 and only 1705 capacity.
I know my truck is stock and unaltered, so I wonder what gives

there's a little bit of mis-print in the general spring chart.
if you scroll down you find 4wd 3/1 listed as part number 34-1337 for $189, but its not in the chart.
my 1500 also has the 3/1 pack.
4/1 and 5/1 very heavy duty. 5/1 is the "light duty" 2500 rating for the 9.25 axle.
watch closely on price. the 3/1 is $189 while the 4/1 is $109 and the 5/1 is $139
