After the change was done I cycled my gears like the haynes manual said but when I took it for a drive it kept jumping in and out of gear on me. At one point I thought I was going to have to get it towed but I put it in park and then back into drive and it took off again, slipping intermitantly. I checked the fluid level and it looked pretty good. Did i mess something up?

I cringe when I hear or see someone putting additives in a transmission, expecially when you conside that additives can alter coefficient of friction of fluid. This coefficient is specific to the tranny clutches.

When you checked fluid level was it in Park or Neutral?

I checked it in neutral. Son of a bitch I paid a transmission guy for help and he told me to put that lucas in there, he said it will stop all the slippage and put a nice layer of lube on the gears!!!!

The only tranny fluid I would ever put in their is Amsoil. All others degrade and dont remove heat nearly as well.

My whining went away completely when I flushed and went to amsoil. I know alot of people use Lucas but I also hear those people having rebuilds. Not saying Lucas is the problem but maybe not the solution.

I would flush that crap out of there and use Amsoil. You may have damages and the Amsoil not help at all but to me its worth a try to post pone the issues a little.

I would also return the TV cable back closer to when you first started. At least it was more functional then as well.
just my .2 cents

OK, i know this post is getting old, but I am so close to having this figured out. My tranny is working beautiful, well almost, I am shifting smooth 1-2 at 10mph 2-3 at 20mph and od at 40-45. All gears about 2500 rpm's, is this correct? Also, for some reason when I turn left, a sharp left, my tranny slips now, what are the possible causes for that?

Thanks guys, you've been a big help!!

Don't worry about it getting old. The whole purpose here is to help get problems fixed.

OK, so you have 1-2 shift, 2-3 shift. Are you feeling OD or is it TCC Lockup? Depending on tire size and gearing, 2500 may be normal, or it may be high.

I don't know what would cause slpping during a turn.

I feel overdrive kicking in. All shifts are a nice smooth shift at light throttle but heavy throttle the gears wind out and shifts kind of hard. Im afraid to keep moving my tv cable in. I dont want to screw it up

It should shift kind of hard at full throttle. Mine will rev all the way to the rev limiter if I let it, under WOT.

Slips in corners? Recheck fluid level. Also, check all electrical connectors. (again. )
