Could it be that it just wont start with the 5.9 in it when it came programed for the 5.2? People have said it should, I dont know though seeing as I have never done this.

Injectors spaying fuel?

Didn't redneck_ram have to switch to 5.9 injectors for his 5.2 to 5.9 swap?

Injectors were already in it when I got it and it was running before. I was gonna bring up something kind of along that line though. I pulled a couple plugs to check spark, and I would have thought that they would either be kind of damp with fuel or at a minimum smell like fuel and they werent. Didnt even smell like gas. Could there be a reason the injectors werent spraying?

That I'm not sure.

Will it start if you spray starter fluid into the intake?

I thought I had some but it ended up being a empty can ughhh And I forgot to buy some earlier at the parts store. So I will see tomorrow. The injectors in it now I know are getting fuel to them, I dont know if they are spraying though. I dont know why they wouldnt be. Mine were just fine when I took the 5.2 out. Are they different from the 5.9 to the 5.2s?

I think the 5.9 requires a little more PSI, not sure, there was a thread brought up about that in redneck ram's build thread.

If you have another set of hands to help you can pour a little gas into the intake too, gotta be CAREFUL though.

Different situation, but my brother in law had a '03 1500 Hemi with a bad motor, bought a good '04, swapped it out, wouldn't start on it's own, WOULD start if you poured gas down the intake, eventually it was took to the dealer and it needed new injectors... Don't know if it was a difference between '03 and '04 or what, his old motor did run, even though the block was cracked....

im on here everyday haha. it "should" start on the 5.2 tune. injectors from the 318, or 360 will work. they should both be the same part number.

double check the crank sensor.

are all your grounds connected? 2, or 3 on the back of the heads, 1 on the front of the motor at the p/s pump bracket. missing a ground would cause a no start situation.

sounds to me, that you missed something, that needed to be hooked up. double check all your wires, and vacuum liness. even with a vac leak, it should still start.

good luck. tearing into mine tomorrow!
