Shift detent plug...
Ok so I took this stupid plug out and there is a spring and a hollow bullet shaped cap in there as well. I have looked and looked and cant find how it goes. Im getting ready to put my tcase back up in to complete my 5.2 to 5.9 conversion and dont want that to be messed up. Anyone have any ideas?? Thank you
I got the 5.9 in and everything hooked up. It had the 5.2 in it to start with. Everyone was saying that even with the bigger motor it should start just wont run right. I just need to order an sct tuner and it will fix it. I have it rolling over but it wont start, any ideas? I only have one set of hands so it is hard at the moment but, where should i look to see what could be the problem?
Yes , ATF+4 to fill. As far as the amount goes, that can be found here in the FAQ/DIY section. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...uid-types.html .
I'll look in my 98 factory service manual and see if it shows anything about that plug you removed. And you can also download the 01 manual from the FAQ/DIY section and see what it shows.

Ive looked at a ton of diagrams and cant find one that shows. there is one that shows kind of, but the piece is different. I called a place and they said, spring, bullet shaped piece then plug. He didnt sound to sure of himself though
Keeping things in one thread would makle it easier...
Check crank sensor to make sure it is in and you did not damage it when putting it back together.
Check to see if you have fire at plugs, and proper fuel pressure.

Sorry, I thought since it was two different problems I would split it up. Ill condence them next time. How would I go about checking fuel pressure? And Ill have to try to look up the crank sensor
You check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge.
And you really need to download the service manual from the FAQ/DIY section. And yes, please keep it in the same thread. If I were a mod, I'd merge this one into your other one.
