Default Advice on tires for 4x2

Hi I have a 2001 ram 1500 2wd ext cab I have just stock 16in tires I believe and I want to start going through deeper mud and stuff like that I was wondering what size tires I should get and should I get new rims or just roll with the oem's. I also would like to know if I should get a lift kit because I don't have the most ground Clearance. Also anything that you think would help with achieving in going through deep mud but on a 18y/o's budget. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it!!!

Moved to tech section.....

3" lift/leveling kit.

Stick with current rims.

Larger tires. Whatever you can afford, with a rather aggressive tread pattern. I wouldn't go any larger than 35's though, as even at that size, you are going to have clearance problems with only 3" of lift.

Default Mud

Make sure you have good tow hooks on both ends of the truck if your set on plowing mud with a 4x2....and maybe some waders.

Changing your title to something more appropriate as "Help!!!!!" is generally reserved for those who can't start their trucks.

Not really true.. With proper tires and a locker and some good driving it will be a good offroader... Hell my truck is 2 wheel drive.. I havent had any issues with getting to places like that.. Granted I knew my limits and have driven 2 wheel drives many of places..

For the thick stuff I think he means it isnt. Good locker would help great tho, compared to a one legger.
