94 1500 4wd: steering/suspension component frame mounted weld broken
Desperately need help from the experts! 94 Ram 1500 4wd steering/suspension component problems...
Back in 95/96, Superlift came out with a 5" lift kit for my rig. Because body style was so new, and suspension went thru many design changes, that it wasn't a perfect fit (ie can only mount 2 of the shocks instead of all 3 per side allowed on kit). As a result, there was some welding that had to be done by the shop. First, WHAT IS THE PROPER FREAKIN' NAME OF THE BAR THAT ATTACHES TO THE DRIVER SIDE FRAME?!? (Track bar?)Said bar attaches to a bracket mount on the frame.
The problem is this: apparently this kit required welding at this bracket to basically turn it into a solid (no bushings) securing point. The weld broke and now my truck likes to drift off to the right.
Any fixes out there other than having a shop re-weld it? I'm sure there's lots more stress being put on other components so should get it fixed ASAP.
PLEASE HELP! THANKS!

Driving with a broken track bar mount really isn't a good idea..... it locates the axle side to side. Under side loading (turning a corner) your axle is currently free to float around, which will also affect steering.... you could easily become a 'passenger with a steering wheel' with the truck currently. Fix it. SOON.

post some good pics of what you've got.
i don't know the prices of any of this stuff, and this one seems expensive, but dodgeoffroad has a reputation for designing and building some almost unbreakable items. Danny truly puts them to the test...
