315/75/16 questions

Default 315/75/16 questions

i have a 1999 dodge ram1500 sport i just put in the 3" leveling kit from top gun customs. the truck currently has 265/75/16 on the stock rims and they look SMALL i was wondering if the 315/75/16 would fit with the stock rims need help ASAP i want to get tires tomorrow lol

Also, using a tire size calculator ( found all over the internet) will show you that the recommended width for the size tire you want is 8-10" wide. You can easily figure out the answer to your question all by yourself, but I know some people just prefer having others do all the work for them. And I fall for it every time......

awesome thanks and that answered some of the questions. so heres another one i have the stock mags i think they are 7" wide? i am looking to get up to that 35" tire mark what size of tire should i be looking at?


and would that 315/75/16 fit on my mags?

Did you read what I wrote?

8-10" wide wheel is recommended for that size tire. Will it fit? Probably. Is it recommended? No.

285's are the biggest you are going to go without having a rub.

Even then it can still rub in certain instances. I have aftermarket wheels with unknown offset and backspace, 285/75/16, 2" level, and only rub a touch every now and then, but only with the plow and backing in to my drive with the wheel cut to the right. Never any other time.

ok will 35 relally wreck my trans without changing the gears?
i put that 3 inch leveling kit in what would you recomend for tire size i figured 35 cuz i thought they would fit?
and i have the sport model and just ran outside and measured my rim and it appeares to be 16x8 did they make a rim that size? or did i measure wrong?
