With obd2 reader i got P0300, P0303, P0305, P0301 and P0137. I know why i get the o2 sensor code. its got nothing to read. And im not sure why i am getting the other codes. Well i mean their is a deffinite miss so i expected the codes but im not sure if its just normal tune up is all i need or if yall think its plenum related.

After pulling some of the plug wires they look like somebody shortened the boot that goes around the spark plug. Anybody think that could be the cause of all the missfires? Some of them are cut down pretty short.

 

pulled the front plug on both sides and they look good so i still dont know whats going on???? The truck will run fine and then have a miss and then run fine. Its really starting to **** me off.

 

Have you checked your plenum? Might be failing O2 as well.

 

Figured it out. The plug wires were arcing off the heat shields.

 

Ordered some 8.5mm wires from summit and also ordered valve cover gaskets and a new coil.

 

What brand coil?

All I have to say is, keep the old coil with you at all times.

 

There seems to be no additional benefit to OEM coil. I used Accel years ago when building Mustangs, and they offered better perfomance. These engines do well with stock.

So +1 on keeping the original handy!

 

I have a super coil on my Mustang, but as far as these trucks go, the only difference from stock is that it's prettier.
