Default question about cams

So im getting ready to do the intake, 1.7's, sct, full tune up, throttle body, timing chain, and water pump. I am wondering if a cam would be worth the money? and if i can get one that wont have me pulling the pistons to have them cut for valve reliefs?

I have seen dscussion on RV cam, but I have NO idea what and RV cam is. There are several that have changed cams, and hopefully when they post up,someone will tell what a RV cam is!

Never had experience but from other people I know the RV cam increases torque under 3000RPM for better towing.

The RV cam I was referring to is not from a LA. It simply is a different grind, I believe it is a very smooth, not lopey cam.

Looking at running the wiplash cam from Hughes. Although im not very savy at knowing weather or not this will be a good cam or not for street use. And am wondering if with the other mods im going to do will it be worth it? Also does anybody know if it will work with the 1.7rr?

No go on that cam. With stock heads and valve springs your limit is .480 lift max.

If you do a cam swap you should do it right.

Cam
Heads
Valves
Springs
Lifters
Pushrods

All that must be taken into account .

All your tune up stuff will give you a nice little power increase as it is
