Default ABS and BRAKE light on

i got a 01 dodge ram 2500 4x4 with 4 wheel ABS and for about a year my ABS light and BRAKE lights are constently on. and ive checked out all the connections for the abs where them come out of the hubs and i even replaced both front hubs to see if that was the problem but no luck... before i take it to a shop and spend to much money are there are other things i can look at and that i could do myself.... also my brakes luck up not so i know the ABS isnt working

You can try replacing the sensor on top of the rear diff. Also check the brake line that runs by the gas tank. It can have a very small pinhole. Also, do the key trick and see what if any codes come up. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...code-list.html

ABS codes won't come up with the key trick. Need a scanner to read 'em. I don't think parts store scanner will do ABS either....

If the rear sensor is bad it should come up. Did on mine.

Rear only on mine, Op says he replaced front hubs, so I'm thinking the rear sensor. I'm wondering if resetting the pcm will do anything. Worth a shot anyway.

I never had much success resetting ABS codes that way.... but, my experience is mostly with GM systems....... you HAD to use a scan tool to clear abs codes on those. It was.... annoying......

Bingo. Sensor on top of the rear diff. Easy to change, affordable part, and fixed the problem.

try the kick trick first, I'd like to know. And when if you decide to replace the sensor. Please disconnect the negative battery cable before doing so.

i have only one code and its a Evap leak code but i'll check into the rear abs sensor. cuz i'm have a kid due in a few months and i just wanna make my truck a little safe for with the wife drives it and this pass winter it wasnt very fun in the snow and ice when the brakes lock up..
