Does anyone know the tooth count on a dana 70 tone gear? The DRBIII tool wants that info along with the tire RPM number to correct the speedo. I have the tire number but not the tooth count. A search here and googling gives me nothing so far.

I did find one on ebay and tried counting the teeth in the picture. I come up with 120, does that sound right?

 

Look through the threads in the last few days. Someone posted a thread, or in an existing thread about a 70 he was rebuilding to install on his truck. Can't remember who though.

tone ring, as in the "gear" thats built into the carrier aka the flange that the ring bolts to correct?

if so, ill go out in a few and count the ring on mine.

edit: YEP, you were right... 120 it is!

Redneck, I have no idea. I've never looked into a newer dana to see how they're set up. I believe it's the same gear the abs reads.

 

i went out and counted the tone ring on my d70, it is 120...

yeah, thats my next project! d60 will go in first, cause its easier. im thinkin about selling the 70. would rather have a 60 instead...
