Start the truck, wiggle all the connectors at the ECM, also, rap on it a bit with something that won't damage the case. See if anything interesting happens.

What exactly am I trying to do by wrapping the ECM?

If there is a poor connection in there, rapping on it will tend to make it show itself. The engine will stumble, or even quit...... if that happens, bad ECM.

I finally got the truck started after about 5 minutes of pulling fuel pump relay, cranking until the fuel was cleared out of the cylinders, plug relay back in, and crank again. When i finally got the truck cranked i rapped on the ecm and it never missed a beat. I shut truck off and it fired right back up. Only after i drive it for a while then let is sit for a while it will repeat the process every time.

Something is failing when heat soaked.

Please remind me of the parts you have replaced, and what brand they are.

I would look long and hard at the crank and cam sensors....... But, if you have spark, (and you obviously are getting fuel...) probably not the issue....

Finally found a smoking gun. I drove it in town for about an hour and brought it back to the house to let it cool down. After about 3 hours with a fan on it before we tried to crank it I pulled a spark plug and it looked a little damp. We taped a bunch of clear straws together and I sucked out of the cylinder and I got antifreeze. It's got blown head gaskets. I can't believe it. It passed the compression test with flying colors. Thank you for everybody's help I will keep y'all posted after the head gasket replacement.

Antifreeze tastes terrible......

Well.... now ya know what's up. Time to tear it down. I would be REAL tempted to just trash the stock heads, and replace them with something better.

Is it cheaper just to buy an engine and swap it out? It looks like you can get one on eBay from $400-$600. Not sure what they run at nearby junk yards.
