Default Exhaust headers?

I am looking for exhaust headers that will bolt to my stock y-pipe and are reasonably cheap, do I need to buy short tube or long tube.

Long tubes will need a new y-pipe.
Shorties will bolt up to the factory.

Shortys are the ezest to do. If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time and if you live in a snow type area that uses salt, look a getting a stainless steel set of headers. It's not fun watching your headers rust away after a couple of years. A good set of headers will start at $300 CDN and go up from there.

Shorties are a small improvement from OEM. Longtubes will actually give you horsepower gains, be sure to wrap them with quality exhaust wrap, more heat you keep in those pipes, better your gains

Or coated headers. (short or long...) The wrap tends to trap moisture against the tubes, and they rust out quickly.
