Default 3 quarter ton springs on 1/2 ton?

Hey fellas, I've been looking at leveling kits for my truck because my back is so much higher due to my air bags. So what I was wondering is if I could just use 3/4 ton springs from a second gen cummins because my buddy has a set from his truck. Thanks

I believe they fit without a problem. Redneckram has them in his 1500.

Yes. Many have done that instead of spacers. You'll just get a stiffer ride.

I had HD springs out of a 04 2500 that I sold to a fellow on here.. Even with his heavy 4bt up front it looks to sit higher up front... Those arent out of the question neither

Are they difficult to swap cuz I helped my buddy with his bigger coils and it was an aggression fueled event. And do I swap out to three quarter ton shocks too?

it depends the 3/4 tons have more than one spring set. depending one rated load. and each year might be different. if you dont run very heavy load. the 3/4 low ton rate might be the best. if you use 3/4 rear axle the break bias may be off, for a 1/2 ton. just my ideas. hope that helps.

Being that 3/4 ton leafs are 3" wide would require a change in width on the following:

1. Front leaf spring hanger
2. Rear leaf spring hanger
3. Spring perches to cut off and put 3" wide ones on. These you can get from many offroad supply bracketry stores.
