Default Fender trim

Hey guys, I painted my rocker panels with bed liner and it looks great. However I want to paint the fender trim with it too but how do this? I have been wanting to do this for awhile but dont know how to do it correctly.

Taping it wouldnt go well with the rounded edges. I seen some trucks on here that did just wondering how you guys did it

I just did the same thing last week, start with a narrow roll of masking tape like 1/2" once you have the radius down right add wider tape to the 1/2" tape. Just take your time and you will get the hang of it.

You were able to get the rounded fenders to look good with tape?

Use the narrow tape as suggested to start out with. It is more friendly about rounded shapes.... then use a wider tape to mask off a larger area. Takes a few tries, but, works pretty good.

3m actually makes tape for this purpose. Any auto store that mixes paint should have it.

Not on the first try but yes I was able to match the curves just fine. Tip; right after you spray the fender remove the tape asap this will let the paint edge lay flat, if you let it dry then take the tape off you will have a much more pronounced paint line/ridge.

The tale is green, and comes as thin as 1/8", all the way to 1 1/2 or 2." As mentioned, start of with the thin tape as you can lay a curve without wrinkles, then gradually lay a little wider tape with slight overlap. (Works great for stripes as well.... )
