Default Tranny bad need to know
I can get my hands on a A500 tranny from a 2000 dodge Durango relatively cheep... but I don't know if it will fit my 1999 ram 1500 with the A518 tranny.

will it fit can I get it to fit or no way?
Please help!!

They are 46RE transmissions. Do they look the same? Both 4x4 or both 2wd? More info would help.

Both 4wd my ram has the 5.9l the Durango has the 4.7L that's why im not sure if it fit I don't know if they look the same

i don't know - but doubt that the 4.7 durango uses the 46re. it likely has the newer trans used by the 3rd gen ram trucks. 545 or something.....

2000 model year with the 4.7 got the RFE trans. Won't fit. Won't work.

Yep. All 4.7's got the 45RFE. Won't work.

Seems like MORE info is helpful!....such as engine size......


Maybe there should be a thread for noobs where they can be provided information such as that!
