Key turns and starter sounds great. Did not drive dodge very often this winter.

Noticed a bit of white smoke under hood--was very damp and wet outside.

Smoke looked to be coming from here--is this the fuel pump? pardon my ignorance--thats why Im here and asking
thanks

Not completely sure what that is, but no, it's not the fuel pump, those are in the gas tank.

Someone will chime in who knows better

I know on my car the fuel pump was back by the tank-thanks for confirming that.

This pump-looking thing is on the front passenger fender well.

Ok thanks, if that failed, could it cause the truck not to turn over??

I'll replace it and see what happens

I can't get the truck to start in my driveway. Do not know what "is it throwing" means-can you define that please.

no code reader in my posession-if i can get it to start I can drive to autozone to read a code--but starting it I do not think will happen until I get problem identified and fixed

Meaning 'check engine light' (CEL)? Need to check for fuel and spark.

Check engine light is on when I'm turning the key to try to get it to start and turn over.

That's normal. Can you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn on the ignition switch?
