Default Oil leak

Hey, need some advice. I have a 95 5.9l auto with a oil leak. The oil appears to be coming from the area where the oil sending unit is. I can't get a good look up in there. I think I going to get a mirror to see if I can see anymore. I did see the top part of the sensor( black part with wires) which seem to be dry. My question is what else could be leaking up there?

Thanks

Oil could be coming from anywhere and just coming out from the area you are seeing it. Inspect the valve covers, oil pan, etc. You could also clean it all off then get a better idea of where it's coming from.

I realized that it could be coming from anywhere. Valve cover is ruled out, it coming from above the oil filter. I know that the sending unit is a possible cause. What else could be leaking in that area and dripping down.

There is also a seal at the back of the intake there. Clean everything off good, drive it for a day or so, then have another look.

+1, if you have done the plenum repair, it's possible the gasket got moved while reinstalling the intake manifold. But the sending unit is also a popular leak point.

Check that sending unit closely - oil going to that sender is under pressure, so the leak may start off slowly, but can get really bad in a hurry and possibly leak so much oil that one can lose a motor.

Ok reporting back in--- found leaking front and rear seals on the intake manifold. Did the plenum repair while I had it off, got a kit from Hughes. Now my truck will not start. It just turns over.

Looks like I have fuel and spark. ( fuel in chamber and blue spark visible from plug)

So I rotated distributor 180 to see if I had it installed backwards with no change. Then tried procedure - #1 TDC- rotor align with marking, still no go. Checked grounds. All connections are connected properly. Scratching my head right now. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Other question, the distributor shaft will only go in two ways but the actual distributor housing has some movement which is allowed by the retaining fork. If this is not 100 % correct, could this be preventing the truck from starting. Maybe but I would think at least some cylinders would fire but I get nothing. What does the movement do?

You removed the distributor? For what?

If you removed it, you must have fuel sync reset by the dealer.
