i have a 96 ram 2500 with a 5 speed manual transmission and its starting to have problems, it works perfect till i try and put it into 5th it goes in nice but it won't come out i need to take the top off and reset it by hand. none of the people i talked to have any idea what it is, one guy said it was some plastic piece that helped but he doesnt know what it is called and i cant order a new one. does anyone have any idea what it is or have any idea what could be going on

Fifth gear nut is probably coming loose. Fix it before the trans grenades.
