I see a glaring issue here: your vin is incorrect for your engine size. Vin code Z is for 5.9 engines. Vin code Y is for 5.2.

I would just get another PCM for my trans and engine, and have it dealer flashed for my vin. But sometimes that can be harder than it sounds.

That pcm number 56046347AG matches up with a 5.9

Part can be found here or at your Mopar parts dealer.

Thanks I got the same thing when I looked it up myself. Its my first dodge so I am working thru it slowly. Would you recommend plug and play or dealer flashed?

Personally, I flashed my original '96 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 5.9 Magnum PCM with a used SCT tuner and bricked the PCM (truck would not start after SCT flash). I purchased a used eBay PCM that matched the truck's original PCM part number. I installed the used PCM and the truck started right up and is running fine now. At some point, I plan to drive to the local Dodge dealership and have both PCMs flashed with the truck's VIN and WITHOUT the death flash. This will provide me with a good spare PCM.

Default Dodge ram 1500

Hey guys I really want to say thanks for all your help, support and information that was generously provided. I installed my new computer today that was already flashed by the company selling with the information I provided and it cranked right up. I did a short drive this evening and ran fine. Thanks again and I will post pictures later.
