Bad idea?
I was replacing my tie rods and noticed that my inner tie rod connected to my pitman arm was about to be ripped out of the socket and as I was about to go buy one, I compared the Inner and outter and they were the same size length width threads and everything. So I just used that now my center link is about to bust off, but was it a bad idea to use the outer for an inner ? The people at my local parts store said "I don't wrench a lot, just look up parts" so they weren't much help, so please let me know your feed back please

I believe one is right hand threads and the other is left hand thread. IN addition, the stud size that fits into the arm might also be a different size. Best to verify by checking the part number yourself. You can look them up via the Web at most auto part retailers, (some examples below):
