Going to get started going through the service manual and checking everything tomorrow, weather permitting. And even though it was dead at the time the battery was disconnected when the WP was replaced. Starting to get rather frustrated to be honest. Lol.

Check for power at the coil when the ignition is initially turned on. You will only have power there for about three seconds, so, requires two people.

If you have power there initially, have second person actually crank the engine, see if you have power at that point. (should have power while cranking....)

Ok. Here's where things stand now. Talked with my regular mechanic, who hasn't seen the truck since it was more of a project at the time this all started, and he said timing. So the front end of the motor came off again and lo and behold, the top gear was in two pieces. After waiting for the cover to come in, got the new gear set and chain on with the marker posts lined up at 12 o'clock since there are no marks on the new gears and got everything reassembled. Things all turn now, but now there is no compression but we do get blowback. Could the timing need to be 180 out of alignment? Also, had a friend help me check the coil again, and there is spark there as well as at the cap from the coil power wire...but still no spark at the plugs. Any suggestions there as well? Thinking the spark might be the cap itself, just kinda ran out of energy(and patience) to try finding a way to test it tonight. Thanks for all the help so far and in the future guys.

Sounds to me like the gears and chain are installed wrong. Here is some good info.
