Hey y'all I have a 96 Ram 1500 5.9L 4x4 SLT. The "ambient air temp sensor" broke well not the sensor but the actual pigtail that plugs into the sensor. I cannot for the life of me find any sort of part number or where I can just get the pigtail plug from. Anyone have any suggestions on this?
Actually headed out right now to a u-pull yard so hopefully I'll have some luck. I'll let you guys know when I find some more info on this stuff. Not an easy thing to just look up it seems.
Picked up the pigtail from the U-Pull Yard. Paid a total of 4.30 for entrance fee and part. Dodge dealership wants $30.xx for it so if anyone else has this problem be sure to check out the junk yard first! If anyone wants a photo let me know.
So I posted a topic on the wire harness for the ambient temperature sensor yesterday finally got a new harness from a u-pull yard. Hooked everything up seems fine but then I turn the truck off and it doesn't read any information to the overhead console display. I unplugged the ambient temp sensor then back in and it worked fine till I turned the truck off again. Does anyone know what the cause of this might be? Also the buttons on the console read Comp./Temp. when I press that button when it did display info it read the temp outside and the compass direction. For a 96' is there a way I could get it to read my miles till empty or mpg on this thing?

I'm confused. LOL You have a 95 with a 96 overhead in it? Maybe the 95 being OBD1 can not do mpg's? Don't know, just throwing that out there.
