Hello everyone! I haven’t been of the forum in quite awhile. I finally bought myself a rig! I’m interested in putting a lift and aleveling kid. I want to do a six inch total lift so I was thinking a 2 inchlevel and a 4 inch lift. I have 285's bf Goodrich on the truck and 2500 coilsin the front with the tow package in the back. I also have bilstin hd shocksall around. How should I go about this lift? Any name brands I should go for orwhat? I don’t even know where to install the lifts. I have 2 friends that know everythingthere is to know but I would like to learn for myself before going to them foradvice.

The general motto around here is lift it right or not at all.

Start researching the different lifts: coil spacer, spring lifts, blocks, add-a-leaf, shackle flip, etc.
What are you going to be doing with the truck? Light pasture driving, trail riding, mudding, mall cruising?

 

What's your budget? Skyjacker makes some excellent stuff and so does dodge offroad...lifts get pricey real fast the taller you go. A good option might be the skyjacker 5" lift, its not the full 6 like you said but it'll still fit 35's pretty easy. I guess you could always get some small 1" spacers to go with it if you really had to have the 6 inches.

okay okay sounds good! i was thinking about puting the 2500 leaf springs in the back along with the coils that i already have in front i will do some reaserch and will most likely be back with questions thanks for the help guys

and im looking to do some mudding with some friends so i want something thats gunna last and thats not gunna brake.

 

Then you're looking for a Dana 60 axle swap then. Because the stock setup will not stand up to the abuse of mudding.

 

im not doing extreme mudding just some small stuff ill swap the axles when the break haha

If you plan on doing that though.... I would be really tempted to just go with a leveling kit... (2.5 inch Hell Bent Steel spacers in front), and then do a 3" body lift to clear your 35's. HELL of a lot cheaper, and you wouldn't be doing the same job twice (with paying the expense twice...) either, as the 3/4 ton rear springs are wider than the half tons.

There are options, but, none of them what I would consider "inexpensive".

 

Why would you need a leveling kit? With 2500 coils your truck should be level, no?
Adding 2.5" spacers (leveling kit) on top of 2500 coils is gonna put your steering geometry off and wont ride very good. Your gonna need a lift kit; skyjacker, rough country, etc.

 

my truck sits level now but I plan on putting 2500 leaf springs in the back so it might not sit level after that because it has the tow package blocks in the back and thanks guys for all the help
