Default Memory Steer

Have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel, 167000 miles. Replaced all 4 ball joints and aligned. Now have memory steering both left and right. Have loosened pitman arm and moved tires. Nothing seems bound up. Did not have memory steering before ball joints replaced. Thought ball joints too tight, loosened and re-tightened and did not help.
HELP needed!

Memory steer? Like, the steering doesn't want to return to center? if that's the case, get a front end alignment, and have the tech bump caster angle up a bit. Should take care of it.

Also, loosening the bolts on your balljoints won't help, as they have nothing to do with how tight your steering is..... and you WANT those bolts torqued to spec.

It's reads to me as if he's still got bad steering after an alignment.

Did the shop provide the alignment specs?

Slope in the steering box maybe?
