Stuck

Default Stuck

so need some insight. have a 01 ram 2500 5.9 gas. stuck in park thna have to do all types of crazy stuff to get it out of park because key dont turn when its stuck so have to get it into neutral to turn key and other stuff. dont know what could be any insights?

also truck vibrates when going 70-78 mph? any idea what that could be also

Could be bad ignition switch, or, troubles with the shift linkage. I would start by taking apart the covers on the steering column, and have a close look at things in there.

Vibration could be anything. Start with rotating the tires, and see if the vibration changes.

okay got the vibration done. put balance bags in my tires.

and ended up being the neutral safety switch which is weird. but thanks for the help

Merc tried balance beads in his tires.... they gave him a vibration that was difficult to track down....

well they have helped my vibration so far . so see what happens with it.

Y yes I did. I will never use them again, thats me. For some reason mine turned into gummy beads, they would stick in clumps inside the tire and make it very unbalanced. I was "told" moisture in the tire/air caused this (not to sure I believe that). So don't use air use nitrogen with those beads.

well thats what we put in our trucks where i work so tried it out but ill give it a week or 2 see how they work. i never needed them with my cummins which why didnt think i would wiht my current truck.

They might not give you one bit of trouble, I know guys that use them and have zero problems with them. For some reason my experience with them was not good, cost me a lot of money trying to hunt that problem down.

Edit: What's the brand name of the beads you used?
