I think I will change TC fluid, took off skid plate, will got get ATF+4 tomorrow. That is a big bolt, I had 1 1/8 socket, too small, 1 1/4 was too big. Must be 1 3/16. Had open end wrenches all around, even a 1 7/17, but no 1 3/16. Oh well big crescent works. Looks like it was made 6/3/96 and is a 231 that holds 2 1/2 pints.

I don't remember what size the bolt is. Took my skid without much trouble. Or are you talking about the fill bolts? Some trucks have allen key others have hex bolt...

I meant the fill and drain.

my 01 fill and drain plugs are inside hex (allen), size=10mm not 3/8 which is just close enough to strip it out.

Remove the fill plug first, then the drain plug. Someone on here removed his drain plug and then couldn't get the fill plug out. Left him up that proverbial creek without a paddle.

That is a good idea. I already put a big crescent wrench and loosened both and re tighten. Just wanted to make sure I couldget the big wrench in there. No allen wrench, just a really large plug.
