Sounds like the PCM is toast. If you have someone press on the connector in question while you crank it, will it start?

My life isn't that easy, what your saying makes good since on everything except this truck. I've been two peopling this connection for a whole day and no fire at all.
My power probe is getting tired of me..

Do you know if a PCM from a 5.9 will at least start this thing, if other things are right as far as sensors and such on this 5.2 ram??
I'm reluctant to try it, but I do have a working 5.9 Durango PCM extra that has overdrive issues, but will run OK..??
THX.

If the PCM is 96 or 97, it should start and run, maybe a little rough, but, certainly driveable.

Its a 99, 5.9 ltr Durango, and the dead Ram is a 97, 5.2 ltr. If ya maybe think it wont hurt anything, I'll try it tomorrow.
I know upon purchase of reman PCM's the 5.9's are always $30.00 or so more expensive then the 5.2's from any source it seems.
I don't know if that's a scam or what?
THX, for info.

Ya, I believe your right. I tried an old one from a 5.9 I had lying around, and it does the same weird thing, where if I connect and disconnect the black connector to PCM, "one on right facing the connectors", the relays click but will not try to start regardless of position. Ive never experienced one acting this way before. That's why I was wondering if the crank or cam sensor could be shorted,, and when I'm connecting and disconnecting the PMC connector, somethings allowing the relays to click just for a split second. And I don't know why all connection of DLC has stopped. It's been a long time since I had to turn one away, but this guy can't do any more parts. He threw the Ign / and fuel pump at it before bringing it to me, and I'm almost working for free on this so he's just going to leave it parked after towed back. Straight body and zero rust in these parts, so I might make offer when he's ready..
THX again, From Joe..
