transgo install how-to??
I had a bookmark saved on my PC to an AOL website but it seems they've changed things up. Does anyone have it saved to their PC or anything. The instructions that came with the kit are poor at best.
Any help?
Thanks, Mike

What help do you need outside of the instructions? Which kit did you purchase?
What pictures are missing from or inadequate in the instructions? I have a few VB laying around I could take some pictures for you. Otherwise taking your time is about all the advice I can offer unless you have a specific question. I've gone through countless valve bodies adding Transgo kits and it still takes me a couple hours.
"ALCOHOL is for drinking, GAS is for cleaning parts, and NITRO is for racing."
Get those instructions, get a pen and a piece of paper, get a bucket of clean gas, get a good strainer to hold the parts as you wash them in the gas, get some small soft plastic brushes for cleaning parts in case there is any hardened varnishes (which probably won't exist, yet be prepared to deal with them), get a comfortable bench to work on, and get to work...
The key to doing that TFOD-HD2 shift kit is taking your time, following the instructions exactly to be sure you dot your eyes and cross your teas.
Use the pen and paper to draw a sketch of your valve body as well as all the individual valves so that as you take it apart, you will be able to put the valve body back together easily without losing track of things because you will have a reference chart that is as good as you are able to make it and is effective as your guide.
Download the 2001 Dodge Ram Service manual from the forum somewhere around here in the FAQ section and open that file so that you can view the transmission section that gives details on the valve body as well as its detailed schematic for performing any type of work servicing it. Print the pages out that are related to your vehicle's valve body so that when everything is all spread out, if your sketch and memory aren't sharp as a razor to help you get humpty dumpty back together again, you will have an engineering style backup plan to help you get out of any situation you may get stuck on in the event of getting lost during your expedition into the bowels of your trans.
It's also a very good idea to have a big plastic tub (2 ft. X 3 ft.) to do the disassembly inside of since there are some springs and other random check ***** that love shooting themselves or rolling into whereabouts unknown. That tub will be an effective tool to keep most everything contained as a way to limit the loss of essential small parts.
When you are done sketching, taking everything apart, cleaning in gas, brushing etcetera, it is advisable to lay everything out, when all parts are dry, inside of that big plastic tub so that you can quickly hit all the parts top to bottom, left to right, upside to downside with brake cleaner to dissolve any residue that the gas may have left behind. Let everything dry off for a while inside that tub with a towel or old clothes keeping any debris from flying into that tub and then finally give everything a bath in some clean, fresh transmission fluid so that everything is lubricated properly when being put back together finally.
Oh yeah, don't forget a comfortable place to sit and to take your time. That would be the best advice I could offer; for whatever that is worth at least...

Alright thanks fellas. I got a pretty good camera to save my poor drawing skills some times. I was hoping to get the link I seen here that had the pics and good install instructions so I knew 100% what I was getting in to.
I have the FSM downloaded I planned on printing off the pages I needed for the trans rebuild never even thought about it for the valve body
