Default Starting issues

Drove truck all day shutting off and starting up no problem. Stopped at mother in laws quick and went to leave..nothing...the starter and solenoid are not engaging. I can here my starter relay click, i even switched fuses. I put a test light on my positive at starter and i have juice, but i can't get light to turn on through the small wire from the starter/solenoid to fuse box under hood. I am not sure what to do here.

give the starter a love tap with a hammer and see if it fires. sometimes u might have to tap it while someone else tries to start it. they get dirt in them and lock up, but you can unlock it, or take it out and clean it.

If you aren't getting power at the little wire, swap the starter relay (in the pdc) with another one, and see if that doesn't help.

I started my truck last night bypassing the ignition switch or whatever and starter relay. I hooked up alligator clip to the little wire coming off starter, then turned ignition on and touche the positive on my battery. It fired right up. So i am assuming it's either the little wire that runs up from my starter is fried or my ignition switch in the steering column.

Had an ignition switch go bad on another vehicle. Same symptoms. Pain in the butt because you end up with a different key to start ii than key to lock and unlock doors. Not a huge deal with keyless entry, but still a pain.
