Default 2000 4x4 w/360 Rough Idle / Dies on Initial Start-up.

It runs fine after warming up. It has new plugs, wires and distr. Could this be the Upstream o2 Sensors?

remove your intake system, remove your throttle body, and check for oil in the intake manifold, front, center, and rear to check on the condition of the plenum gasket.

Start there...

O2 sensors don't play a role on cold start. They take about 2 minutes or so to warm up. PCM doesn't pay any attention to them till they do.

Was having the same issue, and then got a recommendation to replace the battery. Thing has been fine since. Apparently if I started the truck, let it run only a few minutes, then shut it off, the battery wasn't getting a full charge. Then when I started the truck the next time, the battery would be drawing too much current and the truck would run rough. It smoothed out with the battery replacement and I haven't had the problem again.

Ok, any ideas on where to get the best guidance on removal of the Throttle Body / inspection?

Thanks.

Download the 2001 FSM from the FAQ/DIY section. Read the plenum sticky on top of page also. And here is a DIY for cleaning the TB and IAC, https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html and disconnect negative battery cable before performing any procedure (cleaning or replacement) involving any sensors.
