That was then, this is now, There are more features in both the superchips and the hypertech. I also still have a PPIII that I used on my 98 with no problems. The Hypertech screws with the pcm when installed on a vehicle it should not be on, or when you try and and put it back on yours. The SC and the HYper does tire sizes to correct speedo, the SCT does not. Maybe the new SCT will do that too.

Well, it was pretty recent that I had seen it. But oh well.

From what I've seen, Hypertech/Superchips = normal people with no mods.

SCT = enthusiasts with lots of mods

Just my 2 cents.

Hyper and SC with lite mods you mean right, like air intake, TB, headers, rest of exhaust, 1.7's even(basic bolt on stuff) . And of course tire size. The average joe is not installing a cam or more into the motor, and an h1airgap intake manifold. First thing is always bigger tires right? Don't get me wrong, the sct is nice, but for joe, the other two are up to par. And will get better MPG's. I have all 3 and they all have pros and cons.

I suppose those could be light mods. Though 1.7's I would think could be rather daunting for the average joe. I agree the average guy isn't installing a cam or an Air Gap.

You prolly would, since you don't have the correct tools and don't do any of your own work anyway.

Well, I've got a torque wrench now.

And if I can get a job I might be doing my own work. Seeing as I will have to make up lost time being broke. lol

Not true! Maybe because I didn't think I had any symptoms. My truck is in getting a reman trans. Once I get it back I am checking the plenum.
