Default Codes 15 , 37

1995 Dodge 4x4 ram 1500 , 5.2 with 3 speed OD trans.
My speedo , over drive and 4 wheel drive stop working , the light on the OD button comes on , I have codes 15 & 37 ; all relays and fuses are good ; I have replace both speed sensors the one on top of the rear end and the one on the left rear of the transmission , I replaced the Torque converter clutch solenoid yesterday , the speedo , overdrive and 4 wheel drive still won't work. the only thing I haven't changed is located on the left side of trans it screws in the housing and has a plug with 3 wires. could this be the transmission temp sensor , I do not know if this truck came with a trailer tow package and if it did where would the transmission coolant temp sensor be located.
Any help would be appreciated

15 No signal received by the computer (ECU) from the speed sensor
37 Baro-read solenoid open or shorted

Speed sensor is mounted on the output shaft of the t-case. Should be gear driven signal generator. Make sure you are getting correct voltage TO the sensor.... and that it is installed properly. (there are markings on the housing, that correspond to mounting position depending on what color gear you have.....) Make that work right, and your speedo, and O/D should start working correctly.

4x4 is purely mechanical. Put the t-case in 4x4, and see if you can turn the front driveshaft by hand. (with truck in park, shouldn't be able to.) If that is correct, then you just have a vacuum problem. Check the lines at the CAD (central axle disconnect, on passenger side axle tube.) with engine running, should have vacuum on outboard port in 2wd, vacuum should switch to inboard port in 4wd.

No clue on the code 37.....

Moving this to the 2nd gem ram section as well.

The trans. temp. sensor is located next to the trans. in the pressure line coming from the trans. going to the cooler, if you have one. It's the line near the front of the trans. just above the pan on the drivers side. It's pretty common to get that code 37 even if you don't have a sensor.
Remove the check valve from the pressure line going into the bottom of the cooler. It can plug up, shutting off the flow of fluid to the cooler, frying your trans.

Download the Factory Service Manual from the FAQ/DIY section.

Found problem.
Squirrel's or some other rodent chewed thro a wire on the speed sensor between the trans and firewall , replace wire the speedo and OD started working ; But 4X4 still would not engage or 4wheel light come on , check vacuum line from top of transmission to front axle found that 2 vacuum line's had been chewed in half , replace vacuum line's Now every thing is working like clock work.
