+1 on swap the whole thing. i wouldn't even bother taking it apart.

take your measurements: plate to plate
note your speed sensor in the top of the diff.
ebrake connection,
5 lug hubs,
spring perch locations and width
note your driveshaft flange (circular or ujoint straps)
note your ring/pinion ratio, probably 3.55. (important if 4wd)
note open diff vs Limited Slip. open is cheaper, won't break. factory LSD will probably need a LSD rebuild.

you "might" be able to interchange with a dakota or durango or ram van. the broader your interchange, the cheaper it will be.

the cheapest parts around here are at a u-pull-it.
