Hey everyone, i have a 96 dodge ram 1500 that runs great. the problem im trying to figure out is whenever i get into a bumpy patch of quebec roads the truck starts to sputter and run like crap. also there is this sharp right turn coming home from work that seems to just turn off the power to the truck it starts back up right away. any ideas?
Has the fuel pump ever been replaced? Also, might want to check the engine harnesss electrical wiring for a short or possibly loose connectors at the engine computer/PCM..
hey thanks guys ill check out the issues you mentioned, the fuel pump has not been replace yet and it is defective im loosing fuel pressure in the check valve causing long start ups.ill google what the crank position sensor is and try that as well same for the coil wire thanks again
Hey again, so the first wire i tugged on killed the truck. it was located behind the distributer where all the boots connect its a thing little wire with a snap connector when i unplug it the truck turns over but wont go this must be my problem does anyone know what this is called?
hey sorry guys. The wire i tugged on im guessing is what they call the ignition pickup when i fooled around with it the truck died out.. so i rerouted it over a coolant hose so its always pulled upwards and drove over the bumpy road that would cause my problems and the truck didnt bogg out or anything so i think i found the problem thanks again.
